Workshop on "Personality Development"  
Dr. Betty Sibil and Dr. Celina Joy, faculty members of PiMSR, along with Dr. Seeta Desai and Ms. Yvette Lee, members at SIBC conducted a Workshop on "Personality Development" for underprivileged girls at SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) as a part of community service. This project was conducted for the months of August, September and October 2017.
This Personality Development Programme was conducted for the students enrolled for the Nurse Aide Programme at SNEHA Centre at Santacruz. The modules covered were on Spoken English Skills, Grooming and Etiquette, Body Language, Time and Stress Management, How to write a CV, How to prepare for an interview and How to study. The program was well received by all participants. There were around 45 participants for the program.

Mudita - Joy of Giving Week 2017  
Students of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research celebrated "Mudita - Joy of Giving Week 2017" from 2nd - 8th October, 2017. The event was named "Mudita" - a Sanskrit word meaning 'having delight in happiness of others'. An initiative taken by the social service committee of the institute, student members organized different fund raising activities during the week. Funds were raised through a funfair and newspaper drive conducted during the week.
Students also got associated with a social enterprise, volunteer this year and performed Seva Sandwich with the collected funds. This activity involved assembling, preparation and distribution of sandwiches to the needy and homeless. Funds raised during this week will get utilized for conducting activities of social relevance through out the year. Students also volunteered to get registered with Ivolunteer for contribution towards different skill sets as required by NGO's across Mumbai. It was a great learning experience for the management students where learning took place along with a social cause.

Jumble Sale  
Students of MMS volunteered during the Jumble Sale organised by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus on 12th October, 2017. Used clothes, shoes, jewellery, curtains and other household items were put up for sale at marginal prices of Rs. 10 to Rs. 100 per item. More than 350 people from the nearby poor localities visited the Jumble Sale and took maximum benefit. The management students actively participated in laying out the items for the sale. They also took responsibility for the various counters and immersed themselves in selling the articles to the visitors.
